In David Zamora Casas’ new Día de los Muertos-themed installation, the artist hopes to underscore the parallels between the coronavirus pandemic and the global AIDS epidemic.
“Love and Death in Times of Pandemic / Amor y La Muerte en Tiempos de Pandemia” fills nearly every available space of the Bihl Haus Arts gallery on Fredericksburg in the Deco District. One niche is outfitted with a bed where a pair of skeletons share an intimate moment beside a wall covered in political messages.
