GO! Arts: Creative Enrichment for San Antonio Seniors

The GO! Arts Program at Bihl Haus Arts is dedicated to enriching the lives of San Antonio’s active older adults through engaging, accessible art education. We believe creativity knows no age limit — and that artistic expression becomes even more valuable as we grow older.

Our program provides more than just art classes; we create vibrant communities where seniors can:

All GO! Arts classes are taught by accomplished local professional artists who specialize in teaching older adults. Our small class sizes ensure personalized attention and create a warm, encouraging atmosphere where every participant can thrive.

Course Offerings

GO! Arts provides a rich variety of artistic opportunities for seniors at all skill levels. Classes are hands-on, discussion-based, and led by professional artists. Current offerings include:

Visual Arts Drawing and painting courses at both beginning and intermediate levels give participants the tools to build a personal art practice. Classes emphasize technique, creative exploration, and artistic confidence.

Watercolor Painting A favorite among GO! Arts participants, watercolor sessions explore color, light, and composition in a relaxed and encouraging setting.

Mixed Media Participants explore a range of materials and methods, combining techniques from drawing, collage, and painting to create original works.

Art History & Appreciation Engaging discussions and presentations connect participants to the broader world of art — from ancient traditions to contemporary practice.

Creative Writing Through prompts, sharing, and guided exercises, participants develop their voice and explore storytelling, poetry, and personal narrative.

Specialized Workshops, Exhibitions & Field Trips Throughout the year, GO! Arts hosts special events including group exhibitions of participant artwork, field trips to local museums and galleries, and community art projects that celebrate the creativity of our senior community.
